Stadt Kiel Scholarship Programme for 2019-2020

The City of Kiel in Germany has a longstanding tradition of offering scholarships for a 10-month study period at Kiel University. Eligible are students from the Ondokuz Mayıs University.

OMU will nominate the top ranking 3 students, according to the GPA and language proficiency exam score, taking into consideration %50 of GPA and %50 of the language score (TOEFL or IELTS) for assessment.

Target group: Bachelor's level students from their 3rd semester of studies and Master's level. Study projects with a reference to the City of Kiel (e.g. Kiel's history, Marine Science) or covering one of the research foci of Kiel University will particularly be supported.

Study period: 5 months, from October, 2019 until February, 2020 and/or March 2020 until July, 2020.
Scholarship: exchange students are guaranteed free tuition and monthly scholarship (750.- EUR).

Language of instruction:
Bachelor's level - 
German;
Master's level -

Language requirements:
- Students who apply for study programmes taught in German: language proficiency must meet at least level B1 requirements according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- Students who apply for study programmes taught in English: language proficiency must meet at least level B2 requirements (TOEFL or IELTS).

- Statement of purpose with intended study project in Kiel (in English or in English and in German [when applying to German-based study programme]),
- Two letters of recommendation from professors at OMU (in English);
- Transcript of records, 
- Certificate on command of German and/or English; for all exchange programs at OMU, a language score of B1 is required (The results of only the exams accepted by ÖSYM are valid),
- 1 photo.
